Dr. Khadeja Mousa

Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Mousa has been in the mental health field for over 15 years. She graduated with her doctorate degree from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, USA. She has international experience working in the U.S., Kuwait, and in the UAE. She utilizes an integrative approach that focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and specializes in Exposure Therapy for the treatment of Anxiety Spectrum Disorders.
Dr. Mousa is passionate about her work and is deeply dedicated to creating lasting change in people’s lives. She identifies as a Wounded Healer, and because she has personally gone through her own journey of healing, it’s helped her approach her practice with more empathy, compassion, and non-judgment.
One of the most important things she’s learned is that you need a trusting relationship with your therapist; she provides a warm and safe environment where you can feel encouraged to open up and express what you’re thinking and feeling.

Riham Al-Reshaid
Co-Founder & Director of Operations
As co-founder of Wise Mind Center, Riham brings years of experience, wisdom, and compassion. In her role as the Director of Operations, she is responsible for ensuring that Wise Mind Center remains true to our core mission of providing exceptional mental health services.
Riham has years of experience in the planning and execution of Human Development projects in partnership with international nonprofit organizations as well as the Kuwaiti government. Her expertise includes strategy, operations and project management. In addition, her personal journey of recovery and advocacy gives her a unique perspective on mental health and specifically, eating disorders.
Riham has been a pioneer in eating disorders awareness in the Middle East and has been featured in several media publications. She has spent years helping to increase education about mental health issues as well as demystifying the treatment process. She currently serves as the IAEDP International chapter co-chair for the Middle East.
Rima Abboud, M.A.
Clinical Psychologist | Children, Adolescents & Adults
Rima Abboud, M.A. works with children, adolescents, and adults. Rima has a BA in Psychology and a MA in Clinical Psychology from the American University of Beirut (AUB).
Her work specialty includes psychoeducational assessments. She is trained in providing assessments to children and adolescents struggling with educational, cognitive, emotional, and/or social difficulties. These assessments can help to identify cognitive and emotional strengths and weaknesses and/or monitor progress of children. Based on the assessment findings, specific diagnoses and recommendations can then be generated to help parents, teachers, and other professionals tackle specific areas in the child's life that require improvement.
Rima is also trained in providing psychotherapy to address various psychological difficulties (e.g., adjustment disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD etc.). Her therapeutic approach is holistic, client-centered, and goal-oriented. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy techniques, and provides parental management trainings. Rima speaks both Arabic and English.

Maya Zaghloul, MSc.
Clinical Psychologist
Maya Zaghloul, MSc. is a licensed Psychologist. She holds a BA in Psychology from the Lebanese American University and a MSc in Clinical Psychology from Utrecht University.
Maya uses an integrative approach to therapy, which means that she tailors the therapy to the client's needs. She believes in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship by providing a non-judgmental and safe space, and a compassionate approach.
Maya has received multiple certifications in therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Imaginal Exposure (IE). She works with Trauma related disorders and other mood and personality disorders.
Maya's goal as a therapist is to raise awareness and normalize the importance of mental health and wellbeing and to remove the stigma related to psychological difficulties. She helps clients recognize and break negative patterns to help them create a better sense of stability and wellbeing. Maya speaks English, Arabic and French.

Mariam Mouris, MSc.
Clinical Psychologist
Mariam Mouris, MSc. (UK), B.Sc. (Hons), MBPsS, is a qualified and dedicated psychologist with experience in the field of clinical psychology and mental health. Mariam worked as a clinical psychologist assistant in the UK National Health Service (NHS) specializing in complex cases involving burns patients and physical abuse in children and adults. Mariam continued practicing at a hospital, assessing, diagnosing, and formulating treatments for a variety of psychological disorders that impact adolescents and adults. Her work included individual psychotherapy, crises interventions, debriefings, psychometric evaluations and testing.
She is a member of the British Psychological Society (UK) and holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health from Swansea University, Wales, UK. Mariam's academic achievements include achieving the high end of a merit in her master's program, where she specialized in various areas such as affective disorders and trauma, coping with chronic illness, psychotherapy, and more. She
With a background in research, Mariam conducted an impactful dissertation study on wellbeing and internet addiction. Her commitment to excellence has can be seen through her various achievements, including a scholarship award and the Head of Department Outstanding Achievement Award. She also served as the student representative for MSc Abnormal and Clinical Psychology Students.
Mariam expertise includes helping individuals manage stress, depression, anxiety, self-harm, personality disorders, and anger. Mariam's therapeutic toolkit includes client centered approach, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness meditation, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
Beyond her professional roles, Mariam has demonstrated a passion for community service. She has provided support to children, teenagers, and older adults, including those with emotional difficulties and diverse abilities.
Mariam's well-rounded education, experience, and dedication to helping others make her a highly qualified psychologist. Her expertise spans various therapeutic approaches, allowing her to tailor treatment to individual needs. Mariam is committed to promoting mental health and well-being and supporting individuals in their journey towards psychological wellness. Mariam speaks Arabic and English fluently.
